Ilinx

Presented at Culturgest, Porto 2017 and Bienal Ano Zero, Coimbra

Piece for mixed choir in resonant space. Built for an informal vocal group between 40 and 70 people and without previous musical training, this piece starts from a closed system, a human machine that generates sound, with pre-established rules and indefinite duration. The title refers to the vertigo in Roger Caillois’ game theory, between the profane and the sacred, a scenic human device that seeks sensory and psychoacoustic contamination. The piece has a score of rules that, when applied in relation to space, constitute the form and presence of ILINX.
