After the Law is a short film in which a tribunal of humans and objects is contaminated by an unknown accident that has eroded speech and fractured the law. Through a toxic mutation of roles and forms, evidence and gestures, the tribunal’s capacity for deliberation collapses. Filmed as a live performance using a camcorder, this system was conceived as a cybernetic mechanism for haptic responses, where collective drive collides with a synthetic voice. The choral voices were recorded in states induced by hypnosis — a broken voice haunting a political paradox within a process of reverse bioengineering.
